As the recovery movement unfolds and gravitates towards a chronic care model approach to substance use disorder, clinical treatment and recovery support services much be integrated. Peer recovery support services continue to provide a complimentary approach and services to the clinical treatment model. Peer recovery support services are an integral component of the continuum of care and can provide services that assist with filling gaps in clinical treatment and continued access to building, and maintaining, recovery capital.
