Internships Opportunities

Mental Health America and its subsidiaries offer unpaid student internships during the fall, spring, and summer school terms. Students are selected each term to assist the Development Office, the Counseling Center, the Advocacy Program and other areas that are in need of staff support.

Counseling Center Internship: EmberWood Center promotes growth, respect and integrity through community-based services to address the cycle of addiction. Services are provided to individuals and families. Interns in the Counseling Center work on a variety of marketing and development projects.

Development Office Internship: The Development Department is responsible for raising $3,000,000 each year to continue the operations of our programs. Interns in the Development Office work on a variety of activities which may include marketing, donor communications, silent auction solicitation, grant writing, prospect research, and assistance with our annual events.

Advocacy Internship: The Advocacy Department is responsible for achieving administrative and legislative changes necessary to make systems of care more accessible to individuals in need. Interns in the Advocacy Department work on a variety of activities including research and gathering information related to policy initiatives, attending meetings and legislative hearings and assisting staff as needed to accomplish Advocacy Department goals.
